Community Bankers Association of Illinois

CBAI Endorses Kent Siltman for Federal Reserve Board

The CBAI leadership, in meeting September 26, 2007, unanimously endorsed Kent Siltman for the small bank position on the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank board of directors. The decision was announced during the annual business meeting of CBAI's 33rd annual convention in Memphis on September 28.

Siltman, who was elected CBAI chairman for the annual period commencing October 1, 2007, also serves as president and CEO of Citizens First State Bank in Walnut. For several decades now, the FRB Class A director (less than $5 million in capital and surplus) has been held by Iowa bankers. CBAI believes that the time has come for an Illinois community banker to represent this group of Federal Reserve members.

There are approximately 60 Illinois banks eligible to vote in this election, and ballots are scheduled for distribution on October 22. If your institution is eligible, CBAI encourages you to support Kent Siltman. His biographical summary and campaign letter are attached for your review and consideration.
