Community Bankers Association of Illinois

CBAI Expands Governmental Relations Team

Effective July 1, CBAIís governmental relations services were expanded and enhanced to address the increasing number of competitive issues facing community banks at the state and federal levels.

After more than 20 years of service as the associationís senior vice president of governmental relations, David Manning has formed his own consulting firm, and CBAI is now his largest client.

Kraig Lounsberry joined CBAI on July 1 as the new senior vice president of governmental relations. He most recently served as chief lobbyist for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and previously served in state government in various capacities.

In March of this year Megan Stieren assumed the responsibilities of vice president of governmental relations after several years on the House Republican staff. Kraig and Megan are highly respected among both lawmakers and legislative staff members alike.

Complementing CBAIís governmental relations services are chief legal counsel Jerry Cavanaugh, paralegal Levette Shade, and administrative assistant Jessie Schmidt.

Together, these individuals comprise a formidable governmental relations team to represent the growing needs and interests of community banks, blending years of knowledge and experience in the banking and political arenas.
