Banknotes Magazine Wins Prestigious Award

SPRINGFIELD, IL (November 6, 2007) - Banknotes, the bimonthly magazine of the Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI) has won a MarCom platinum award for publishing excellence.

MarCom Awards is an international competition for marketing and communication professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of marketing and communication. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, and freelancers. The competition is thought to be the largest of its kind in the world. MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.

This is the second time Banknotes has been cited for excellence. It is a past winner of the Best Periodical Award from the Illinois Society of Association Executives. Banknotes features informative articles for banking professionals, stories on CBAI member banks and bankers, and updates on Association activities. It is mailed bimonthly to some 3,300 Illinois bankers and other interested parties. It is offered by subscription; advertising opportunities are also available. Its publisher is NewslettersInk of Murray, Utah.

CBAI is a professional trade association representing nearly 500 Illinois commercial banks and thrifts, and their 715 Illinois bank branches. Its members have $70 billion in assets and employ approximately 18,000 individuals. CBAI, headquartered in Springfield, was founded in 1974.
