Action Alert! Urge Senate to Keep the $30 Billion Fund Intact in the CBAI Supported Jobs Bill
July 20, 2010

CBAI is calling on community banks in Illinois to urge Illinois Senator Richard Durbin and Roland Burris to keep the CBAI-advocated $30 billion Small Business Lending Fund in pending legislation. There is discussion about potentially stripping the CBAI-backed fund, which would encourage community banks to boost small-business lending, from the jobs bill. We also call on you to urge Senators Durbin and Burris to oppose the Udall Amendment that would raise the credit union business lending cap and increase the size of loans exempt from the cap. The passage of the Udall Amendment would amount to an unfair and counterproductive power grab by taxpayer-subsidized credit unions.
