Community Bankers Association of Illinois

Your Immediate Attention is Needed!
Grassroots Effort is Needed to Support Community Banks Positions on Interchange, Trust Preferred Securities, State Lending Limits, and the CFPB

Please contact your member of Congress regarding the important issues which will be considered by the Senate-House conferees this week. Time is running short for community banks to advocate for changes that need to be made to the financial regulatory reform bill. The Senate-House conferees take up critical negotiations over the harmful Durbin amendment to impose government price controls on debit card interchange; the Collins capital proposal that requires adjustments to safeguard trust preferred securities that community banks hold; the structure and power of the proposed consumer financial protection bureau; and the ability for states to continue to set lending limits for state-chartered banks.

Your grassroots outreach on these issues is urgent.

Please send all four of the pre-written letters to your members of Congress!

  • Fight Harmful Interchange Amendment
  • Fix the Collins Trust Preferred Amendment
  • Remove Mandatory National lending Limits for State-Chartered Banks
  • Urge Conferees to Oppose the House Offer on CFPB
  • If you have any questions regarding these letters please contact Kraig Lounsberry at 800/736-2224 or David Schroeder at 847/909-8341.
