CBAI and CBIS-Nicoud Renew Partnership to Help Community Banks Navigate the Complex Insurance Terrain

Springfield, IL. (July, 2016) - The Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI), announced today that it has extended its agreement with CBIS-Nicoud Insurance Services through June 2019. The new three-year agreement will ensure CBAI members have continued access to insurance professionals exclusively dedicated to serving the insurance needs of community banks.

With nearly 200 community bank clients across the Midwest, CBIS-Nicoud is one of the largest community bank insurance agencies in the country. That scale has proven to translate directly to banks’ bargaining power with the growing segment of specialty carriers vying for their business. “ We have strong relationships with all of the carriers,” said Jim Hillestad, CBIS-Nicoud president. “ Our large community bank client base means we get pricing and underwriting considerations for our banks that a general agent simply doesn’t have the power to negotiate.”

Mike Kelley, CBSC president, said that leverage, coupled with CBIS-Nicoud’s internal efficiencies and community banking expertise, have been a difference-maker for association members. “ Nicoud’s assessment process has helped a number of member bankers recognize significant exposure in their bank.” He added, “ Nicoud’s professional staff recommended insurance solutions that ensured the banks were adequately protected.”
