Marine Bank, Springfield, has an opening in its Compliance department for a Mortgage Quality Control/Lending Compliance Specialist.

Job Description:

·         Perform pre-funding secondary mortgage compliance reviews and prepare monthly reports.

·         Coordinate post-funding secondary market mortgage compliance reviews with our outsourced firm and review monthly reports for accuracy.

·         Work with the Compliance Officer to develop, recommend and monitor corrective action and preventative actions.

·         Work with the Compliance Officer to ensure the Bank is operating in accordance with lending regulations.

·         Assist the Compliance Officer with reviewing and submitting Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data.

·         Perform all job duties in compliance with applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.

·         Any other duties and projects as assigned.


·         Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or equivalent experience.

·         Three to five years of residential mortgage lending experience; exposure to all aspects of origination, servicing secondary marketing and mortgage compliance areas preferred.

·         Knowledge of secondary market investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, USDA) and ability to keep abreast of investor and regulatory changes.

·         Familiarity with internal audit policies and procedures.

·         Familiarity with HMDA and the 2018 changes.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

·         Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact and work respectfully and cooperatively with others.

·         Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen, speak and write clearly and concisely, and focus on the recipient's point of view.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review the completeness and accuracy of loan documentation.

• Identify any loans that are not in compliance with the requirements of the Bank’s Credit Risk Policy, to include appropriate approval levels.

• Determine the appropriateness of the assigned loan grade based on the criteria specified in the Bank’s loan policy.

• Comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations including specifically compliance.
