Speaker Madigan's Summit Meetings Winding Down; Thanks for Testifying!

As reported here previously, Speaker Michael Madigan and the Illinois House of Representatives released a schedule of statewide hearings designed to determine the impact of increased fees upon Illinois' businesses. The regulatory fee increase sustained by state-chartered banks, savings banks, and thrifts in May 2003 is one of the fees that has been discussed at the hearings. CBAI was directly contacted by Speaker Madigan's office and invited to participate in these hearings. CBAI, along with the other co-plaintiffs in our judicial proceedings against the State, believe that these hearings provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen our arguments in favor of repealing the regulatory fee increase and preserving the dedicated bank funds. CBAI would like to take this opportunity to thank the following member bankers who have participated or who have agreed to participate at these hearings: Mr. James Dingman
